- 4 c. flour
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 2 eggs
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Add flour and mix until crumbly.

3Set aside 1 1/2 cups of the crumbs.

4Stir the spices into the sugar and flour mixture, then add the milk, soda and eggs.

5Beat thoroughly.

6Spray a 9 x 14-inch pan with cooking spray, then sprinkle 1/2 of the reserved crumbs on the bottom of the pan. Pour in batter, then sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.

7Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.

8Serve warm or cold.
