  • 4 Tbsp. or 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. buttermilk or skim milk
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 5 1/2 c. all-purpose flour (approximately)
  • 5 tsp. or 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3 Tbsp. wheat germ
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. lite salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    In a pan, heat margarine, milk and water to 120°.

    In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour, 2 cups of all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, yeast and wheat germ.

    Add warm liquid to dry ingredients. Add egg and beat 3 minutes in mixer.

    Add the rest of the flour, slowly, until the mixture is not sticky.

    It should be tacky.
