Ingredients
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1/4 c. oil
- 1/2 c. honey or molasses
- 3 tsp. salt
- 8 c. whole wheat flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl.

2In another bowl, mix milk, oil and honey.

3Gradually stir into yeast and water.

4Add 4 cups flour and stir; beat for 3 minutes.

5Add 4 more cups flour; beat until stiff.

6Knead 12 minutes.

7Place in a greased bowl; cover with cloth.

8Let rise in a warm place (85°) for 40 to 60 minutes.

9Punch dough down.

10Cut in 3 equal parts; shape into loaves.

11Place in greased loaf pans.

12Cover; let rise for 30 to 40 minutes.

13Bake at 425° for 12 minutes.

14Lower heat to 350° and bake for 30 minutes.

15Brush tops with oil or butter; cool a few minutes before turning out on cooling racks.
