Wild Rice With Bacon

- 6 slices bacon, crisp cooked, break into pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 cup uncooked wild rice
- 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 2 -3 green onions, thinly sliced (about 1/4 cup)
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions

1Melt butter in 10 inch frypan (non-stick) over medium heat.

2Cook wild rice, mushrooms and onions in butter about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are tender.

3Stir in water, salt and pepper.

4Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally, reduce heat.

5Cover and simmer 40 to 50 minutes or until rice is tender, drain if necessary.

6Stir in bacon pieces.
