  • 2 tablespoons (2 envelopes) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 3 cups claret
  • 1/2 cup sweet Madeira
  • 1/2 cup strained orange juice
  • 1/3 cup sugar

Directions

    Soften the gelatin in the cold water.

    In a stainless steel or enamel-coated saucepan heat together, without boiling, the claret, Madeira, and orange juice.

    Dissolve the sugar in the heated liquids.

    Add the softened gelatin and stir to dissolve it also.

    Cool the mixture, pour into a mold, and chill until set.

    Unmold onto a chilled serving platter.
