  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup Burgundy or other dry red wine

Directions

    Combine egg, sugar, and water in top of a double boiler; beat well. Add butter; cook over boiling water, stirring frequently, 30 minutes or until sauce thickens. Remove from heat; stir in wine. Serve warm.
