Winter Fruit Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. pitted prunes
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. dried apricots
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 c. walnuts, chopped
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 (29 oz.) can peach halves, drained
  • 3 pears, cored
  • 3 oranges, peeled and sectioned
  • 3 bananas, sliced

Directions

    Cut prunes and apricots into bite size pieces.

    Combine sugar and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil.

    Add prunes and apricots; remove from heat.

    Cover and let soak 4 hours.

    Drain. Place in a large bowl.

    Cut peaches and pears into bite size pieces.

    Combine all ingredients, except bananas.

    Chill.

    Add bananas just before serving.

    Spoon into fruit dishes and serve. May top with a small spoonful of whipped cream.
