Winter Fruit Compote

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches
  • 1 (16 oz.) can apricot halves
  • 1 (16 oz.) pitted Bing cherries
  • 1 (16 oz.) pear halves
  • 1 can pineapple chunks
  • 1 can mandarin orange segments
  • 1/2 box dried prunes
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • juice of 1 orange
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. either macaroon crumbs or gingersnap crumbs or graham cracker crumbs

Directions

    Drain well all fruit; mix together. Butter a casserole and pour in fruit.

    Combine brown sugar and crumbs; sprinkle generously on top. Sprinkle juice of lemon and orange and bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Serve warm or cold, with or without whipped cream.
