- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1/3 c. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Melt butter; pour over cake mix and add first 1/3 cup milk. Pour 1/2 of cake mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 8 minutes at 350°.

2While it is baking, melt caramels with 2nd 1/3 cup milk. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over hot baked cake mix and pour melted caramels over that.

3Put remaining half of cake mixture over caramel.

4Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
