- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 tsp. salt
- 6 to 7 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- melted butter or margarine
Directions

1Soften yeast in the warm water.

2Pour hot milk over sugar, shortening and salt in a large bowl.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Blend in 1 cup flour and beat until smooth.

5Stir in yeast.

6Add about 1/2 remaining flour and beat until very smooth.

7Beat in the eggs. Beat in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
