- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. melted shortening
- 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Soak the yeast in warm water.

2Scald milk and cool.

3Beat the eggs until light.

4Measure salt, sugar and shortening; stir into eggs.

5Add scalded milk.

6(Milk should be body temperature when dropped on wrist.)

7Stir in yeast.

8Add 1/2 flour, then continue to add flour until dough is stiff.

9Knead about 5 minutes.
