  • 1 c. potatoes, cooked and mashed
  • 1 1/2 c. potato water
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 7 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm potato water.

    Mix sugar and shortening together; add eggs, yeast, potatoes and flour.

    Mix well; cover and let rise in refrigerator overnight.

    Take out what you need and make out into rolls and let rise, about 2 hours. Bake at 400° until brown.
