- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1/4 c. oil or shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 egg
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water.

2Combine the milk, sugar, oil and salt.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Add 1 1/2 c. flour and beat well.

5Beat egg in yeast mixture and gradually add the remaining flour.

6Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes or you may use a dough hook.

7Place dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the dough all over.

8Cover, place in a warm place to rise until doubled in bulk (1-2 hours).
