- 1/4 c. + 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 to 6 c. flour
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 c. lukewarm water
Directions

1In a cup, put 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 package yeast and 3/4 cup warm water.

2Set aside.

3In a bowl, put 2 tablespoons shortening, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 cup sugar, and pour in 1 cup boiling water.

4Let cool to lukewarm.

5Add yeast mixture and beaten egg. Add enough flour (5 to 6 cups) to make soft dough.

6Place in refrigerator until ready to make into rolls.

7Let rolls stand 2 hours before baking.

8Bake at 350° until brown.
