- 1 pt. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. warm water
- yeast cake
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 level tsp. soda
- heaping 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Heat together milk, sugar and shortening.

2When cool, add yeast cake that has been dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water.

3Add enough flour to make a thin cake dough.

4Let rise 1 hour.

5Add soda, baking powder and salt.

6Sift flour and add to mixture. Work well.

7Put in refrigerator and use as needed.

8When making rolls, let rise 3 hours.
