- 1 1/4 c. Crisco
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Blend Crisco and sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating well.

3Combine flour, baking powder and salt.

4Add with milk, vanilla and lemon extract to shortening-sugar mix. Beat until smooth.

5Grease and flour a tube pan.

6Put batter in pan.

7Bake at 325° for 1 hour or until cake tests done.

8Cool completely.

9Sprinkle cake with powdered sugar.
