Yellow Squash Bread

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 c. yellow squash
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 7 to 8 c. flour
Directions

1Heat squash and milk in pan until bubbly around edge.

2Add margarine and stir until melted.

3Stir in sugar and salt.

4In a large bowl, mix flour (4 cups) and the yeast.

5Stir in milk and squash mixture; add remaining flour to make a stiff dough (stiff enough to knead).

6Knead 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

7Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in size.

8Punch dough down and shape into rolls.

9Let rise again.

10Bake in heated oven of 375° for 50 minutes for bread or 15 to 20 minutes for rolls.

11Brush top with melted butter while hot.
