- 1/2 gal. milk
- 4 Tbsp. starter (old Laban)
Directions

1Heat milk on low fire until it comes to a scald (froth to top of pot).

2Remove from fire and cool enough so that you could immerse a finger and count to 10.

3Add 1/2 cup warm milk to starter and stir about 10 minutes.

4Pour into container (plastic preferred).

5Cover, then cover with warm towel or cloth.

6Let set in warm place about 6 hours without disturbing.

7Refrigerate. Reserve starter for next batch.
