  • 75 grams margarine
  • 340 ml White sugar
  • 125 ml golden syrup
  • 250 ml boiling water
  • 325 ml salted peanuts

Directions

    Over gentle heat, stir in margarine, sugar, golden syrup and water together in a pot until the sugar is dissolved

    Turn up the heat and, without stirring, boil the mixture for half an hour.

    To test if it is ready, drop a little of the mixture in cold water.
  4. 4
    If it is ready, it will set hard and cracked when broken.
  5. 5
    Remove the pot from the stove and stir in the nuts.
  6. 6
    Pour into a geared tin (roughly 20 cm X 20 cm) and allow to set.

    Break into pieces when hard and store in a jar.
