- 2 eggs
- 2/3 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Directions

1In a large bowl, beat the yolks, flavoring and water until it looks like enough to make a quart.

2Add one cup of sugar gradually and beat seven minutes.

3Add flour, baking powder and salt, sifted together and beat just until mixed.

4Finally, beat egg whites stiff and then add gradually the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and the cream of tartar and beat until very stiff.

5Fold egg whites into batter.

6Bake in an ungreased tube pan at 350° for about 45 minutes.

7Invert pan and cool.

8Delicious.

9Frost or serve with strawberries and Cool Whip.
