- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. oats
- 1 c. coconut
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 lb. margarine (1 stick)
- 1 Tbsp. golden syrup
- 1 tsp. bicarbonate (baking soda)
- 1 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl; make well in center. Melt margarine and syrup in saucepan.

2Dissolve baking soda in 1 tablespoon of tepid water; stir into melted margarine and syrup. Pour into dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

3Shape into balls the size of large marbles (walnut).

4Place 2 inches apart on cookie tray.

5Bake at 350° about 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
