All-Bran Rolls

- 1/2 c. shortening (original recipe called for lard)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 c. all-bran
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 yeast cakes
- 1 c. warm water
- 5 or 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Mix shortening and sugar.

2Mix hot water and all-bran.

3Let cool.

4After it has cooled, add eggs and salt.

5Dissolve yeast cakes in warm water and add to mixture, then add flour.

6Make into rolls.

7Let rise 2 hours or until light.

8These need to rise only once and may be kept in refrigerator or may be frozen before rising.
