  • 1 5/8 cups flour
  • 7/8 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 3/8 tablespoons margarine softened
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 7/8 cup chopped almonds
  • 7 1/8 tablespoons margarine
  • 6 3/4 tablespoons milk

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

    Grease a 25 centimeter pie mold with margarine, or line with parchment paper.

    Mix all the pie crust ingredients until you get a smooth texture.

    Spread the dough in the pie mold, and bake for about 15 minutes.

    While the crust bakes in the oven, place all topping ingredients in a saucepan or frying pan, and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir often until golden. Remove from heat.

    Remove the crust from the oven, and cover with almond topping.

    Bake for 5 to 10 minutes, until caramelized. Do not let it get too dry.
