- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over mixture.

3Mix with fork.

4Round into ball; divide in half.

5On ungreased baking sheet, pat each half into a strip 12 x 13-inches.

6Strips should be about 3 inches apart.

7In medium saucepan, heat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water to rolling boil.

8Remove from heat; quickly stir in almond extract and 1 cup flour.

9Stir vigorously over low heat.

10Beat in eggs all at one time, until smooth.

11Divide in half; spread each half evenly over strips, covering completely.

12Bake about 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown.

13Cool.

14Frost with glaze and sprinkle generously with chopped almonds.
