- 1 cake yeast
- 4 Tbsp. warm water
- 5 c. flour
- 4 Tbsp. sugar or honey
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening or 3/4 c. oil
Directions

1In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Put flour, sugar, soda, baking powder and salt in separate bowl.

3Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and yeast mixture.

4Mix well.

5(Does not have to be kneaded.)

6Dough can be stored in a covered plastic bowl in the refrigerator for 1 week.

7Roll out and cut in shapes or drop balls on ungreased baking sheet.

8Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
