- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. solid shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
Directions

1Blend together flour, salt, sugar and shortening.

2Add buttermilk and mix well.

3Dissolve yeast in warm water; stir into batter.

4Store in refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight. Cut into biscuits and let rise.

5Bake in preheated oven at 400° for 15 minutes, or until brown.
