- 5 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together and cut in shortening.

2Dissolve yeast in 2 tablespoons warm water.

3(I mix this in a cup with a little more water.)

4Add to buttermilk.

5Mix liquid ingredients to dry ingredients.

6Place on floured board and knead.

7Cook at 400° for 15 minutes or until brown enough for you.

8Put leftover dough in covered bowl or plastic bag and refrigerate.

9Will keep 2 weeks.

10(I prefer to use dough within a week.)
