- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening or oil
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.

3Stir in yeast mixture, oil and buttermilk.

4(If using shortening, cut into dry ingredients to resemble coarse cornmeal before adding yeast mixture and buttermilk.)

5Keep dough in refrigerator up to two weeks.
