- 3 c. self-rising flour
- 2 heaping Tbsp. Crisco
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Mix flour, sugar and Crisco with pastry blender or tablespoon and fork until in fine pieces. Add buttermilk to yeast; stir well and add to flour mixture.

3Mix well.

4(Add more milk if needed until dough is easy to handle.) Put dough in greased bowl and let rise 2 hours.

5Then knead dough on floured surface.

6Roll dough on wax paper and cut out biscuits. Let rise 2 hours.

7Bake in a 400° oven until brown (8 to 10 minutes).
