  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 4 tsp. sugar (if sweeter bread is desired, use 4 Tbsp. sugar)
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda and baking powder.

    Add yeast which has been dissolved in the 1/4 cup lukewarm water; cut in cold butter.

    Mix with buttermilk.

    Roll out, cut and bake at 400°.
