  • 2 c. peeled and diced apples
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Mix sugar with apples; let stand until sugar is dissolved. Add beaten egg and beat well.

    Sift dry ingredients together and stir into apple mixture.

    Add nuts last.

    Bake in 8-inch square pan for 40 minutes at 375°.

    Serve warm with sauce.
