Apple Clafoutis: Simply Mix and Bake

- 1 Apple
- 1 Egg
- 65 grams Caster sugar (or granulated sugar)
- 50 grams Unsalted or salted butter
- 50 grams White flour
- 120 ml Milk
- 1 tbsp Rum
Directions

1Bring the egg and butter to room temperature.

2Grease the cake pan with butter (not listed).

3Mix the egg and sugar well until most of the sugar granules has dissolved.

4Add the butter and mix well.

5Sift in the flour and mix well.

6Pour the milk in and mix.

7Add rum and mix.

8Peel the apple.

9Cut in half and remove the core and stem.

10Slice into 3-5 mm thick slices.

11Pour half of the dough into the pan.

12Arrange the apple slices in a circle.

13Pour the remaining dough into the pan.

14Preheat the oven to 180C, and bake for about 50 minutes.

15Poke a skewer into the cake, and if it comes out clean, the cake is done.

16If serving chilled, sprinkle icing sugar on the cake.
