- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar (divided)
- 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 8 cups apples, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons tapioca
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 34 teaspoon sugar
- 14 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions

1In bowl mix flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.

2Cut in margarine until crumbly.

3In another bowl, lightly beat eggs and vanilla.

4Add to crumb mixture.

5With fork, gently mix in milk to moisten.

6Stir until dough forms or ball.

7Press 1/2 dough into greased cake pan.

8Chill remaining dough.

9Prepare apples and toss with tapioca, cinnamon and remaining sugar.

10Place over dough in pan.

11Or lightly floured surface roll chilled dough to fit top of pan.

12Place over apples.

13Brush with milk.

14Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle on top.

15Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden.
