  • 5 c. sliced tart pared apples (Granny Smith)
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 3/4 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Put apples in a 9-inch buttered pie plate or 9 x 13-inch casserole.

    Combine sugar, flour, oats and cinnamon.

    Cut in butter until crumbly.

    Press mixture over apples.

    Bake in moderate 350° oven 45 to 50 minutes or until top is brown. Chopped pecans can be added to topping.

    Serve with ice cream or whipped topping.
