  • 3 to 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pastry shell
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 8 Tbsp. chilled, cubed, unsalted butter

Directions

    Toss peeled and sliced apples with 2 tablespoons sugar and fill pastry shell, rounding up in center. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt.

    Mix in butter with fingertips until granular.

    Sprinkle evenly over apples.

    Bake 15 minutes in a preheated 425° oven. Reduce heat to 350° and bake another 30 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with whipped cream.
