  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sweet milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • flour (enough to make soft dough)
  • apples, chopped slightly

Directions

    Blend all but apples and roll dough 1/4-inch thick.

    Cover with apples and bits of butter.

    Roll like a jelly roll and cut in pieces about 1 1/2-inches thick.

    Drop into boiling sauce and bake 30 to 40 minutes at 325°.
