  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. oleo or Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 c. chopped apples
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda (baking)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar with nuts and set aside.

    Mix everything together, except apples.

    When the ingredients are well mixed, add chopped apples.

    Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan.

    Sprinkle sugar and nut mixture over cake batter.

    Bake for 45 minutes at 375°.
