- 3/4 stick butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/3 c. milk
- 2 c. finely chopped apple
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Melt butter in an oblong baking dish.

3In a pan, heat sugar and water until sugar melts.

4Cut shortening into flour until fine.

5Add milk and stir until soft dough forms. Pour on a floured surface and knead until smooth.

6Roll out dough in a long shape, 1/4-inch thick.

7Pour apples over dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.

8Roll dough up like a jelly roll; dampen edges and seal.

9Cut 16 slices in top.

10Place dough in pan and pour sugar water over this.

11Bake one hour.
