  • 1 (17 1/4 oz.) pkg. frozen puff pastry
  • 6 to 8 apples, sliced thinly
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. finely chopped nuts
  • 5 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 6 Tbsp. bread crumbs or cookie crumbs
  • 1 to 2 beaten egg yolks

Directions

    Thaw puff pastry for 20 minutes.

    Combine apples, raisins, cinnamon, sugar, nuts and crumbs.

    Unfold and roll out each pastry square to 13 x 10-inch rectangle.

    Place half the apple mixture along center line of pastry (lengthwise).

    Brush edges with beaten egg yolks.

    Fold dough over filling, pressing edges together to seal.

    Place seam-side down on greased rimmed baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pastry.

    Brush tops with egg yolks.
