- 4 lb. Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. dark rum
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 c. sliced toasted almonds, crushed slightly
- 1/3 c. unseasoned French bread crumbs
- 5 phyllo leaves
- 2 oz. (1/2 stick) margarine, melted
Directions

1Combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, almonds, rum and bread crumbs.

2Let set 1 hour or overnight.

3When the filling is ready, coat each phyllo leaf with butter and stack.

4Work quickly, phyllo dries fast.

5Add the filling down the center.

6Bring in the sides and fold up, egg roll fashion.

7Brush with melted butter and bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

8Serve with ice cream.
