- 8 large cooking apples
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
Directions

1Core apples and slice into quarters.

2Place in a saucepan with water.

3Cook slowly until apples are tender, about 20 minutes. Put apples through a food mill and discard skins (if mill is not available, peel apples before cooking and after cooking, mash them).

4Add cinnamon and lemon juice.

5If desired, add sugar, but it is not necessary.
