Ingredients: 1 c. shortening; 2 eggs; 2 c. applesauce; 4 c. flour; 2 c. pecans; 1 c. raisins; 1/4 c. candied cherries (optional); 1 tsp. salt; 1 tsp. baking powder; 2 tsp. soda; 1 tsp. cloves; 1 tsp. allspice; 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

2 eggs
2 c. applesauce
4 c. flour
2 c. pecans
1 c. raisins
1/4 c. candied cherries (optional)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream the shortening and sugar. Add applesauce. Beat in eggs. Sift all dry ingredients. Coat nuts and fruit with 1 cup dry ingredients. Add to wet mixture.

Mix easily. Stir in rest of dry ingredients.

Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350°.
