  • 2 1/2 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 1 box raisins
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 4 Tbsp. soda

Directions

    Heat applesauce and add soda.

    Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon, cloves and allspice.

    Mix eggs, shortening and sugar. Add dry ingredients and applesauce.

    Add raisins and nuts; mix well.

    Bake in a tube pan that has been greased and floured at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
