  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. applesauce
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream shortening, sugar and maple syrup.

    Add egg and applesauce.

    Sift salt, cloves, cinnamon, soda and flour.

    Add raisins and nuts.

    Mix well by hand only.

    Put in greased loaf pan.

    Bake 1 hour at 350°.

    Frost with butter frosting.
