Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. applesauce (no sugar)
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves

Directions

    Sift and thoroughly mix flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, cloves.

    Add eggs, oleo and vanilla and mix well. Dissolve the baking soda in applesauce and mix well and add to above.

    Add pecans and raisins (rubbed lightly with flour, so not sink to bottom) mix it all well and pour into a greased and floured tube pan and bake 1 hour at 325°.
