  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raisins (in flour and spices)
  • 1/2 c. nuts (in flour and spices)

Directions

    Cream the sugar and shortening.

    Add applesauce.

    Sift dry ingredients, add raisins and nuts and add to creamed mixture. Pour into greased and floured 8-inch square pan.

    Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes.
