  • 4 large firm green apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/8-inch slices
  • 1/2 c. water
  • sugar to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

    Put apples and water into saucepan. Turn heat to medium and cook, stirring often, until the apples become tender, about 5 to 6 minutes.

    Add sugar and lemon juice. Stir to blend.

    Cook another 1 to 2 minutes.

    Remove from heat and mash with fork.
