- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/3 c. shredded coconut
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (12 oz.) jar apricot preserves
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add to butter mixture. Add nuts, coconut and vanilla. Mix well.

2Press 2/3 of the dough into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Spread preserves on top. Crumble remaining dough on top of preserves.

3Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.

4Cool on wire rack. Cut into 36 squares.
