- 2 c. regular rice, uncooked
- 5 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 4 c. consomme, heated and divided (chicken, best)
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 3/4 c. finely chopped celery
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 c. slivered almonds
Directions

1Brown rice in butter for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Combine rice, 3 1/4 cups consomme and herbs in a greased 2-quart casserole.

2Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour, stirring several times. Stir in remaining 3/4 cup consomme, vegetables and almonds. Stir well. Cover and bake for 45 minutes.

3Makes about 10 servings.
