- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2/3 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. wheat germ (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten
- coarse salt
Directions

1Mix flour, milk, butter, baking powder, sugar and salt to a soft dough.

2Gently knead on a floured surface into a smooth ball, adding small amounts of flour to dough, if necessary.

3Take walnut size pieces of dough and roll into long strips, 12 to 15-inches long by 1/4-inch thick.

4Twist each strip into pretzel shape and place seam side down on a greased cookie sheet. Brush pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.

5Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden.
